Ex Nigerian Striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni on Trial at League one side Coventry

The 34 year old has returned to England after a stint in Turkey with Kayserispor.

The Striker is no stranger to English football having played for , Middlesbrough, Leceister, Everton, Blackburn, Portsmouth and Reading.

The Yak as he is often called made his debut in English football for Portsmouth in 2003, on Loan from Maccabi Haifa.

Harry Redknapp signed him Permanently for £4 million after he helped the club win the Division one Title.

He went on to play over 200 games for different English Clubs, scored over 100 goals.

With Coventry bottom of the League one Table, the Coach Russell Slade is hoping "The Yak"  will help push the Club up the table.

He said : "He's going to spend some time with us and we will see how he performs. He's made a big impression, he's a nice fella and he's been welcomed by the team."

"He's been away in Turkey, that was his last club. He is back in England and wants to get back playing as quickly as he can.

The 34 year old is likely to be Signed on a Short Term deal.
