Yakubu Aiyegbeni's Contract With Coventry City Terminated


Former Nigerian striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni has left Coventry City following the termination of his contract after playing just three games.


The club confirmed this via their twitter account:


The 34 year old joined the League one club in February to help the club avoid relegation. After just three games with no goal scored by the Nigerian the club has decided to release him.


The Yak as he is fondly called was suppose to remain with the club till the end of the season but after suffering a Hamstring injury a mutual agreement was reached and his contract terminated.

The former Nigerian striker has played for various English clubs like Portsmouth, Everton, Middlesbrough, Leceister, Blackburn Rovers and Reading.
