Iheanacho late strike earn Eagles Draw Against Corsica

Kelechi Iheanacho scored a late penalty kick in friday's 1-1 draw friendly game against Corsica.

The Super Eagles put up a woeful performance in a match fans expected they would have easily won against an unknown Corsica in the world of football.

Nigeria started the game with Ezenwa in goal, Troost-Ekong, Ebuehi, Awaziem, and Echiejile in defence, Oghenokaro Etebo, Mikel Agu and Alhassan Ibrahim starts in midfield while Musa, Iheanacho and Onyekuru starts up front in a 4-3-3 formation.

The Super Eagles were a goal down after just five minutes when 32 year old Jean-Jacques scored from the penalty spot after Ebehi was penalized for handling the ball in the box.

Henry Onyekuru should have equalized minutes later, but he could not find the back of the net after he was sent through on goal by a pass from Ahmed Musa.

Nicolas Penneteau the Corsica goalkeeper was in superb form making a fine save from Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho.

Iheanacho finally beat the goalkeeper from the penalty spot in the 80th minute, after Oghenokaro Etebo was fouled in the Corsica penalty box.

The Super Eagles take on Togo next as they prepare for their African Cup of Nations qualifier game against South Africa in June.
