Madrid Beat Barcelona To La Liga

Real Madrid defeated Malaga 2-0 at the Rosadela to beat Barcelona to the La Liga title for the first time since 2012.

The reigning world best player Cristiano Ronaldo continued his fine form by scoring the first goal of the game early in the first half before Benzema added the second in the second half rendering Barcelona's win over Eibar useless.

Zidane's men are on course to secure the double this season with the Champions League final against Italian giant Juventus still to come.

Ronaldo got the opener for Madrid just inside two minutes, Malaga player Luis Hernandez played a clumsy pass to Isco, the Spaniard found Ronaldo with a throughball, Ronaldo raced onto the ball, rounded Kameni before putting the ball inside the empty net.

Malaga almost equalized twice in the first half, first in the 12th minute Navas was on hand to save Sandro Ramirez low strike before saving Sandro's goalbound freekick colliding with the goal frame as a result.

Benzema doubled Madrid's lead in the 55th minute reacting quickest to a rebound by blasting the ball in from close range after Kameni saved Ramos's shot from a Toni Kroos corner.

Barcelona turned around a two goal deficit by defeating 10 man Eibar 4-2 at the Camp Nou but their win was not enough to secure the La Liga title as Madrid won at Malaga.

Barcelona who won the La Liga title back to back needed Madrid to lose at the Rosadela in other to secure their third consecutive La Liga title by head to head as they will be tie on points.

Takashi inui stunned Barcelona by putting Eibar ahead early in the game, he scored the second goal for Eibar early in the second half before Barcelona rallied with an own goal by David Junca, a strike from Suarez and a Lionel Messi brace.

Barcelona have just a chance to secure Silverware this season if they win the Copa del Ray against Alavez.

Barcelona were without defenders Javier Mascherano, Gerard Pique and Jeremy Mathieu with Marlon Santos yet again starting the game.

Barcelona was expected to dominate Eibar at Camp Nou early in the game but reverse was the case as Takashi Inui became the first Japanese player to score against Barcelona in the history of La Liga by striking a first time shot past Ter Stegen from Capa's cross.

Suarez missed a sitter by firing wide with only the goalkeeper to beat before having his 14th minute goal ruled out for an offside against Jordi Alba in the build up.

Eibar goalkeeper Yoel saved Sergio Roberto's volley in the 33rd minute before blocking Suarez's goalbound low strike minutes after.

Ruben Pena should have put Eibar two goals up just before half time but somehow failed to score a rebound after Ter Stegen saved Inui's initial effort.

Yoel denied Iniesta with two brilliant saves first in the 50th minute diving low to keep stop Iniesta's strike from the edge of the box before saving another iniesta strike from 18 yards in the 52nd minute.

Messi should have scored in the 56th minute but his side footed effort from close range failed to find the back of the net.

Inui got the second goal for Eibar in the 61st minute collecting a pass from Enrich before unleasing a thunderous left footed strike that flew past Ter Stegen, striked the underside of the bar on its way in.

Barcelona halved the deficit two minutes after, David Junca scored an own goal as he attempted to clear Neymar's shot that came off the bar.

Messi had a spot kick saved by Yoel after the referee awarded a controversial penalty in favour of Jordi Alba who kicked the floor when attempting to shoot on goal.

Luis Suarez equalized for Barcelona in the 70th minute poking home Alcacer's flick from a Neymar corner.

Capa Rodriguez was shown a second yellow card for a foul on Neymar in the box, this time around Messi scored the spot kick with a low strike to the bottom right corner.


Messi made it four in the 92nd minute, he picked the ball from the halfway line went past five Eibar players before striking the ball into the left bottom corner.

Athletico Madrid won their last game of the season by defeating Athletico Bilbao 3-1 at the Vincente Calderon.

Bilbao needed a positive result at the Calderon to secure a Europa League qualification but went behind in the 8th minute after Fernando Torres struck from close range following a nice knockdown from Greizmann.

The Athletico Madrid Legend added the second three minutes after his first, striking the ball into the back of the net from a Koke head back.

Inaki Williams halved the deficit collecting a defense splitting pass from De Marcos before striking the ball in the back of the net via a deflection off Savic.

Correa restored Athletico Madrid's two goal lead with the last goal of the game scoring a rebound after Greizmann's effort came off the bar.

Villareal secured Europa League football next season with a 3-1 win away at Valencia.

Former Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado put Villareal ahead in the 1st minute of the game before Nani equalized, Trigerous put Villareal ahead again in the 58th minute before Sansone sealed the victory with a third goal.

Real Sociedad leapfrogged Athletico Bilbao to the Final Europa League qualification spot via League by securing a 2-2 draw against Celta vigo away from home.

Iago Aspas opened the scoring in the 54th minute before Mikel Oyarzabal equalized for Sociedad, two goals in the 90th minute first from Celta vigo substitute Hjulsager before an equalizer from Juanmi.
