UEL Ajax Thrash Lyon

Ajax Amsterdam tore French side Lyon apart with a resounding 4-1 victory in the Europa League first leg semi-final at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

On loan Chelsea striker Betrand Traore scored in each half, with other goals coming from Kasper Dolberg and Amin Younes. Valbuena got Lyon's only goal of the game.

Lyon almost went ahead in the 11th minute but Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana was able to block Maxwell Cornet's effort with his leg.

Betrand Traore put the host ahead in the 25th minute with his head touching the ball slightly to guide Hakim Ziyech's delivery past Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes.

Kasper Dolberg got the second goal in the 34th minute latching onto a Traore header before striking the ball into the bottom left corner.

Lopes stopped Younes from adding a third goal a minute before half time only for Younes to eventually beat the goalkeeper four minutes into the second half his deflected shot crossing the line before Lyon could clear.

Valbuena got an away for Lyon in the 66th minute curling his shot into the left corner following a poor defensive header by Schone.

Betrand Traore completed the rout scoring the fourth goal of the game his second for the night guiding Ziyech's cross into the net.

Lyon pushed for another away goal by Onana was on hand to save Rafael Da Silva strike, the game ended 4-1.
