He was not offered a new contract but the Sweden International is still in Manchester and still receiving treatments from Manchester United medical staff despite not given a new contract.

Ibrahimovic was Manchester United top scorer last season scoring 17 times in the EPL he also won the Community shield, League Cup and Europa League Cup with Manchester United.

The 35 year old has been linked with a move to MLS side LA Galaxy.

According to ESPN : "It's possible. It's open," Mourinho said. "We wanted to be honest and open and make a decision if his desire was to really leave. There was no new contract.

"We left a space of time for everybody to decide and from his view he made the decision that he still wants to play at highest level."

"At the same time, we have to make a decision that makes us all happy and if that is for him to stay and we wait until December, maybe. I don't think before December.

"But why not wait for a big player who gave us so much?"
